Vici Gaming defeated by PSG.LGD at WeSave!

Vici Gaming loses to PSG.LSD at WeSave Charity Play finals

WeSave! Charity Play finals in five different regions have been going on with full force. However, all the eyes in the Dota 2 community were on a recent final match in Chinese region. The top Dota 2 team Vici Gaming had a face off with PSG.LGD today at WePlay. It was a best of five game that ended in a surprising victory.  Despite the overall scores of PSG.LGD, their roster had the upper hand in the entire three matches against the Vici Gaming.

PSG.LGD had some adjustments in their active roster in the last month. The team benched Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son and Li “ASD” Zhiwen from the main roster. They decided to switch Yang “Chalice”‘ Shenyi’s role to carry from offliner. In the recent week, PSG.LGD also brought Ren “eLeVeN” Yangwei from EHOME to fill in the offliner spot.

During their final match against Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD had greatly outplayed VG’s roster. They ended up winning all three of the matches. PSG.LGD’s drafts were always on point. This gave the other side a hard time to counter their moves. One of the highlights during the game was Chalice. He had a great carry performance on the map.

However, Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao and Xu “fy” Linsen had also played a huge part in boosting Chalice to be able to solo carry Vici Gaming’s roster. Somnus and fy’s double play also left VG with very little to push against PSG.LGD, leading them to lose all the matches.

PSG.LGD in Dota Pro Circuit

Although their surprising success against Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD is still very behind in Dota Pro Circuit compared to the other teams. They still hold no DPC points in the scene. The team had also opted to not participate the first Major of 2019-2020 season, saying that they would go on a break. Later on, when PSG.LGD returned to the scene, they failed to get a spot in open qualifiers. It was their second attempt at trying to reach the qualifiers. Their failure led the team to go through a series of adjustments in their roster.

Vici Gaming

While PSG.LGD had a rough time in the past years, Vici Gaming have been one of the top teams in the Dota 2 scene. They always succeeded in their attempts to get in to the Major seasons. They also finished the MDL Chengdu Major season in the second place. More recently, they had a third place finish at the DreamLeague Leipzig.

The game between PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming has also ended the Chinese region matches at WeSave! Charity Play. Since the charity has passed $150,000 milestone, there will also be cross regional games in the following days. The winner of Chinese region, PSG.LGD will be going against the winners from the other four regions.
