1. DRAGONBALL Z: KAKAROT 16 January 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
Hailing all DBZ fans, you’ll like this one. Kakarot is a third-person action-RPG and open-world game that covers Goku’s story as the player takes him through different iconic events in the Dragon Ball Z story. The basic premise behind it is, Goku will have to start from the bottom and work his way up the Saiyan food chain, just like he does in the anime. The game’s director spoke on this stating, that unlike the previous DBZ iterations “where characters used to be on somewhat equal footing, the footing won’t be equal for Goku and the player”.
2. ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS – 11 FEBRUARY 2020 (XBOX ONE, PC)
This title is a sequel to 2015’s ‘Ori And The Blind Forest’ which had won over the hearts of several fans due to its beautiful imagery, a fantastic soundtrack, emotionally-charged narrative, and polished gameplay. First of all, the sequel is set to take place after the events of the first game as our protagonist Ori, a fox-like guardian spirit, is put on a new quest that takes them beyond the forest of Nibel. Or is once again accompanied by Sein, the light and eyes of the sacred Spirit Tree. Furthermore, as they go on a journey to unearth mysteries of the lost ones and travel to new & unexplored places in search of Ori’s true destiny.
3. GODS & MONSTERS – 25 FEBRUARY 2019 (PS4, XBOX ONE, SWITCH, PC)
Gods & Monsters is an open-world action-adventure game where players take control of the main protagonist, Fenyx, who can roam freely in an extraordinary fantasy world, using incredible abilities against mythological monsters who aren’t his only foes. This is a game filled with complex trials, treacherous quests, and heroic acts that await the player in a challenging but rewarding journey.
4. FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE – 3 MARCH 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE)
Final Fantasy VII Remake retells the original story from 1997 original. Initially, we follow the former Shinra soldier Cloud Strife when he joins AVALANCHE, an eco-terror group as a mercenary, in order to face off against the Shinra corporation. They have been draining the planet’s life energy. Hence, while the premise might still be the same as the original, the remake is said to be a full remake and built from the ground up. So, it should be interesting to see how the new gameplay fares against its predecessor almost 20 years later.
5. SKULL AND BONES: MARCH 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
First of all, its developed by the same company who gave us the awesome Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Skull & Bones is set in the 1700s during a time when the British Empire and its European rivals rule the Caribbean. Moreover, Piracy has grown so common and rampant that it cannot be ignored. So the British Crown issues the King’s Pardon, offering mercy to all pirates who gave up their infamous ways but death to those who refuse.
However, those who refuse the King’s Pardon are forced to flee as The Empire wages a vicious war on every pirate ship on the seas with any survivors captured and hung on the gallows, one by one. Later on, the game kicks off as tales of victory, gold and glory from the Indian Ocean start to reach the ears of the last surviving pirates – leaving you and your crew to make the long, dangerous trip to the faraway waters of the Indian Ocean for one final stand against Empire.
6. VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE – BLOODLINES 2 – MARCH 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
Bloodlines 2 is a choice-driven narrative that features reactive storytelling, fast-paced combat, and compelling characters. The premise has you enter the night as one of several humans inexplicably attacked in a Mass Embrace. Furthermore, they are suddenly thrown into the dangerous and ruthless vampire politics of Seattle. With tensions between the vampire factions in Seattle at an all-time high, this unsanctioned attack throws the status quo into chaos. Hence, being one of the few free agents in town, you are to choose a side. This is because your decisions will play an important role in the factional war to control the blood trade.
7. DOOM ETERNAL – 20 MARCH 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, STADIA, PC)
Doom Eternal is a first-person shooter & the upcoming reboot sequel to the 2016 Doom reboot. First of all, the game is set 8 months after it’s predecessor, taking place on Earth. The forces of Hell having an overrun as players take control of the Doom Slayer once again to fight both the forces of hell and heaven. From the looks of it, it’s super bloody, super gory, super terrifying. In short, just the way we like all our Doom games to be.
8. CYBERPUNK 2077 – 16 APRIL 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, STADIA, PC)
One of our most anticipated titles takes place during the early 21st century. Moreover, its a time when the US is forced to rely on large corporations to survive. These corporations operate above the law as they commercialise industries such as weapons, robotics, cybernetics, pharmaceuticals, communications and biotechnology. Later, during a time of economic crisis, the game follows the story of V, an urban mercenary who takes on dangerous jobs for money in Night City. It is the most violent and dangerous metropolis of the corporate-ruled future.
9. MARVEL’S AVENGERS – 15 MAY 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, STADIA, PC)
It was a no brainer that Marvel hot off the success of Avengers: Endgame would be cooking something up in the gaming front. First, the basic premise behind this title happens while celebrating a holiday called “A-Day” in San Francisco. However, suddenly the Golden Gate Bridge is attacked. The Avengers “Assemble” there only to find that the real terror event is happening back at the celebration thrown in their own name. Later, the tragedy strikes as a result of that mistake and the game then undergo a time jump. Skipping ahead to events sometime later, the Avengers reckon with the harsh consequences of their own ignorance. While it may appear that ‘The Avengers’ is now retired, the game speaks on starts to tell a different story.
10. THE LAST OF US: PART II – MAY 20, 2020 (PS4)
The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after the events of the first game. Ellie, our main protagonist is now 19 years old with Joel her compatriot in the first game, now in his mid-fifties. While the game is primarily set in Seattle, Washington, the premise starts off during winter in Jackson County, Wyoming with the two have settled down quite well. Also in relative peace back in the settlement we last left them at. However, when a tragic event disrupts her peaceful life, Ellie is out in search of vengeance against a mysterious cult known as ‘The Seraphites’ as she starts to hunt down the people responsible.
11. ELDEN RING – 30 JUNE 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
This is a super exciting title we’re looking forward to, primarily because Game Of Thrones author George R. R. Martin has collaborated with Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, to create this dark, mythological open-world action RPG. Now, while there isn’t much to be said about the game’s setting as of now, but the mystery surrounding it + the fact that the game of thrones creator is behind it, no doubt it’s going to be something very special.
12. OUTRIDERS – SEPTEMBER 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
There’s not much information on the storyline when it comes to Outriders except that this is a drop-in-drop-out third-person shooter. But, as an Outrider, each player is tasked with the mutual objective of tracking down an ominous signal. Also, this can either be done alone or with up to 3 players. “Outriders draws on all our experience from all our previous titles”, explains creative director Bartosz Kmita. ”We describe Outriders as a dark, modern shooter built with traditional values. By that I mean we are creating an experience with a strong story that you can enjoy with your friends, or on your own.”

13. WATCH DOGS: LEGION – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, STADIA, PC)
The third entry in the Watch Dogs series is coming in the near future. IT will be in the UK post BREXIT where there is an accelerating rise of automation as the rise of Artificial Intelligence has left millions of people unemployed. Moreover, the economy is collapsing, the government is losing power, and cryptocurrencies have overtaken the pound. Legion is based on the premise that players recruit allies from across the city. Members of the hacker collective DedSec, seek justice for ordinary people by fighting the various enemy factions trying to rise to power in London with the use of the CTOS system where each recruited character in the game is said to have their own individual and personal backgrounds and skillsets to offer.
14. DYING LIGHT 2 – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
Dying Light 2 is a sequel to the original game set 15 years later, where the “Harran Virus” now spread across the world, leaves you to take on the role of Aiden Caldwell, an infected survivor looking for a cure, where the player has the ability to make choices to aid various factions within the game that can affect your outcome & storyline. This is an open-world first-person survival horror that has you take on roaming zombies that might be the biggest threat in the game, but where fellow humans can be just as dangerous.
15. EMPIRE OF SIN – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, SWITCH, PC)
Empire of Sin is a strategic third-person game that actually reminds us of the classic neo-noir detective action-adventure LA NOIRE. The premise is based at the heart of the ruthless criminal underworld of 1920s Prohibition-era Chicago. A period where wannabe kingpins are fighting to take the throne and control of Chicago’s booming bootlegging scene. In Empire of Sin, you pick one of 14 classic American gangsters such as Al Capone, Dean O’Banion and Stephanie St. Clair. Each boss offers their own unique traits, including combat abilities, and empire and diplomatic bonuses. It’s up to you to hustle, charm and intimidate your way to the top of the pile and do whatever it takes to stay there.
16. GHOST OF TSUSHIMA – TBC 2020 RELEASE (PS4)
The story revolves around feudal Japan in the year 1274. At the time, samurais were fearsome defenders of the Japanese empire. Then, the Mongol Empire invaded the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, players must use unconventional tactics that go against samurai traditions. It’s critical to forge a new way of fighting – the way of the Ghost – for Japan’s freedom.
17. WASTELAND 3 – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
Wasteland 3 is a party-based RPG, setting in the freezing wastelands of a post-apocalyptic Colorado. Here, the player will take control of the last surviving member of Team November. This is a Ranger Squad who are stranded in the region and cut off from civilization. In the early portion of the game, the objective of the player will be to survive the low temperatures of the region, with the ultimate objective is to build a power base for the Desert Rangers in the region.
18. HALO INFINITE – TBC 2020 (XBOX ONE, PC)
Halo Infinite is the upcoming sequel to Halo 5: Guardians and is set to be a soft reboot of the franchise. It will continue the series’ story but by re-imagining certain concepts. By this, they go on to say that the game will be “much more human”. Also, The Master Chief playing the central character as he also receives new armour in this title.
19. LEGO STAR WARS: THE SKYWALKER SAGA – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, SWITCH, PC)
The Skywalker Saga is a third-person world action-adventure whose storyline pretty much covers the entire nine Star Wars films. The game will incorporate all Star Wars films from Phantom Menace (1999) all the way to this year’s The Rise of Skywalker (2019). With this most players will be able to play through all these memorable Star Wars sagas. The only difference will be reimagined version with the usual LEGO fun and humour.
20. RAINBOW SIX QUARANTINE – TBC 2020 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)
Any Tom Clancy game is a fantastic game! Ever since we first played Splinter Cell, almost 15 years ago, we’ve been huge fans. Moreover, the franchise doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon with their latest upcoming release. Rainbow Six Quarantine shaping up to be a major title to watch out for. The reveal trailer alone gives off some really frightening vibes with a tense atmosphere. Players will be in a three-player team of Operators to work together and fight off the increasing threat of a technological parasite.
