Team Liquid beats TSM in day 2 of LCS Summer

Team Liquid defeat TSM in the second day of LCS Summer Split Series

TSM has recently started their LCS Summer run with a big upset against Team liquid. They have lost their match in the first match of the second day of the summer series. Team Liquid’s Edward “Tactical” Ra has showed great performance on stage against TSM’s roster. He had joined the team from the academy roster. On the other side, there was also Liquid’s former bot laner Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.

Doublelift had parted ways with Team Liquid after the LCS Spring series. The team had a ninth place finish in the previous series. They failed to qualify for the playoffs due to their poor results. Doublelift decided to move to TSM a month later. He had already been playing for TSM about three years ago. Doublelift played during Worlds 2017 in their roster. He was also part of the team during their championship at Rift Rivals 2017. After coming back, he told the community that his goal was to beat Liquid in the summer series. Unfortunately, he couldn’t achieve his dream in their debut week.

Team SoloMid vs Team Liquid

TSM decided to draft Taric and Kalista hero combo in the bot lane at the beginning. However, despite their early push, Team Liquid ultimately countered their early lead. Tactical on the other side with his Aphelios showed impressive play against TSM. Undefeatable bot laner finished the match with seven kills and six assists. Before the end, along with Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in and his Bard, Tactical had one of the best performances in the first week of LCS Summer Split.

Meanwhile, TSM had a big fall during the match. The team had a decent start, but it fell short soon after. They failed to counter most Team Liquid in most occasions. Moreover, Mingyi “Spica” Lu failed to utilise his Kayn on the stage that pushed TSM back even further. Spica only became effective in the battles after the twenty minute mark. But Liquid already had their heroes fully built by then, crushing TSM’s last efforts.

Team Liquid finished the battle against TSM in less than half an hour. They also had over 13,000 gold at the end. Despite the unfortunate defeat however, both teams still have a long way in the LCS Summer Split. TSM’s next opponent will be Team Dignitas on 14 June, while Team Liquid will go against Golden Guardians an hour later.
