Phantasy Star Online 2 beta test sign up now open.

Microsoft has announced an upcoming closed beta test for PS02 which players can now register for.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to the Xbox One in North America in Spring 2020 but before that Sega is going to be holding a closed beta test. Players will be able to get a sneak peak at the action before it arrives but they need to sign up for it. Microsoft has announced the registration is open now via the Xbox Insider App. You can check out the latest trailer for PSO2 below:

What’s the game’s plot?

In Phantasy Star Online 2, you are a member of ARKS, a task force whose dedication is exploring numerous planets. And protecting the universe against a malignant force called the Falspawn. Players embark on a never-ending assortment of missions with fellow operatives and experience unparalleled action RPG combat, completely free to play. Phantasy Star Online 2 first launched in Japan in 2012. It eventually appeared on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita too. Its Xbox One and PC western release was announced at E3 2019.

The Closed Beta is available in the US and Canada only. However, while no date has been given showing when the test will start, it’ll only be open to Xbox One. Signing up for the Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta is simple. Players just head to the store and download the Insider Hub app and from there you can go to “Insider Content” and PSO2 should be listed. When the test goes live, the Xbox Wire post states you should receive an Xbox Message letting you know.

Further details on the game and beta are on the official website where it also confirms that all progress from this test will carry over. Also, everyone who takes part in it will also earn some as-yet-unnamed “exclusive rewards.” 

Moreover, while Phantasy Star Online 2 will also release on Xbox One and PC in North America. The website lists a quick disclaimer that “the Windows 10 version will launch later in 2020.” The PC version is not a part of this beta program, but you can still register for early sign-up if interested.
