Nigma joins upcoming WePlay! Dota 2 tournament

Team Nigma officially joins the WePlay Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon event this February.

WePlay! has recently added one more team to their upcoming Dota 2 tournament. The organisation has added Nigma in the invited teams list, while Nigma has also officially confirmed that they would play in the upcoming WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon this February. With Nigma, there will now be eight teams participating in the upcoming WePlay! event for $300,000 prize money.

WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon currently features Nigma, Gambit Esports, TBD, and Team Secret as the invited teams. However, there are also Natus Vincere, Infamous Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, and Ninjas in Pyjamas qualified to participate at the tournament. There is one more team spot for the organisation to hand out an invite for the Dota 2 event.

Current participating teams at WePlay! Dota 2

Infamous Gaming have been struggling in the recent Dota 2 season. The team’s roster are lacking experienced players to be able to make a stand off against some of the top tier teams such as Nigma or Team Secret. So far, Infamous’ roster only have Enzo “Timado” Gianoli and Mariano “Papita” Caneda with decent Major experience.

Royal Never Give Up and Natus Vincere, on the other hand, are still going strong in the professional Dota 2 scene. In the recent WePlay! Minor, Royal Never Give Up had a great run up until they faced Nigma’s roster in the Dota 2 event. They were eliminated from the event by Nigma. It is likely that both Natus Vİncere and Royal Never Give Up will see this event as an opportunity to prepare for bigger tournaments.

Who else is attending the WePlay event?

Ninjas in Pyjamas have also told the community that they would be debuting their new roster at the WePlay! February event. They recently made some changes in their Dota 2 roster and changed Saahil “Universe” Arora‘s position in the roster. However, the team is still working through to make a decent composition with Jason “TANNER” Weedon, Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos, and Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin for the upcoming event.

Lelis was previously playing for paiN Gaming as their team captain. However, about three months ago the team replaced him with Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento. Daxak, on the other hand, played for Gambit Esports in the last two years. Their team won three Minors during this period. Both Lelis and Daxak joined Ninjas in Pyjamas’s roster very recently. The team signed them less than a week ago. So they are still progressing to integrate with the rest of the roster.

The last team at WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon is going to be announced in the following weeks. In the mean time, current teams are preparing for the event to come on Wednesday, 19 February.
