JD Gaming qualify for LPL Playoffs

JD Gaming has officially entered the LPL Spring Split playoffs after defeating Rogue Warriors 2-0

It is the last week of the matches at LPL Spring Split and the stakes were never this high. In one of the recent matches, Rogue Warriors have failed to qualify for the LPL playoffs after losing to JD Gaming. JDG had a one sided battle against their roster in their first match of the week. Rogue had lost the match 0-2, also losing their chance to get to the playoffs after the LPL Spring Split.

JD Gaming have been closing to the top spot at the LPL Spring Split. The team is currently standing in the fourth place right behind FunPlus Phoenix. They have been going strong in their LPL run so far. JDG were also the team that entered the week seven with four win streaks. This gives the team the opportunity to climb to the top spot depending on how the results of the next two matches.

One of their top players in their match against Rogue Warriors was Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok. Kanavi had an outstanding play in the first match. His jungler performance with Nidalee led him to finish the match with an MVP award. It is also not the first MVP award he has received during the LPL Spring Split. Kanavi had got a total of 11 MVP awards in the LPL series so far. He has been one of the main driving factors in JD Gaming’s success so far in the series.

The other top performing player in JD Gaming’s roster has been Zeng “Yagao” Qi. Yagao had the other MVP award in the second match against Rogue Warriors. With his Zoe play, Yagao had used utilised his opportunities to take down Rogue’s roster one by one. His kills led JDG to finish off Rogue eventually.

The League of Legends team has been going through a rough year in the past seasons. They had failed to get a good placement in the previous LPL Spring Split, finishing in the eight spot. Later on, their dropped even further by leaving the 2019 LPL Summer Split in the tenth place. After a disappointing year, JD Gaming brought Lee “LokeN” Dong-wook in the roster. Their former bot laner Gu “imp” Seung-bin had retired from the professional scene after the summer split.

JD Gamings performance has been quite good at LPL Spring Split so far. Although, they had four losses, they managed to climb back very effectively. Their latest victory also means that the team are now in the LPL playoffs. JDG even has the chance to see the top of the LPL standings if the stars were to align in their favour with the other top three teams. Meanwhile, they have two more matches left until the LPL Spring Split ends. On paper, their upcoming matches are easy enough to push get into the top three spots. JDG will go against Dominus Esports on Friday at 5am CT.
