Granblue Fantasy: Versus recently launched in Japan and is set to be released for Western audiences in March.
Arc System Works and Cygames confirm a Western release for 2D fighting title Granblue Fantasy: Versus. It will release in North America on March 3rd. Granblue Fantasy Versus released few days ago, February 6, in Japan and has been making waves on social media already. Moreover, Cygames announced the game’s sales reached 150,000 copies sold, digital copies and physical copies included.
For those unfamiliar, Japan’s Grandblue Fantasy, was a mobile JRPG that released in 2014 to a very positive reception. While that entry to the series has still not managed to come to the West yet, its fighting game spin-off Versus shall. In the new entry, power, skill, and spirit collide in a quest to find the true champion of the sky. As players take on AI opponents or fight against human opponents in local or online two-player matches. The game features a colorful cast of their most popular “crewmembers,” each with a unique fighting style that is easy to learn but hard to master.
What is the gameplay like?
In terms of gameplay, Granblue Fantasy: Versus has the single-player story mode, which you go through in sidescrolling stages, fighting minions and bosses to get to the end. Once you’re ready to combat another player, the game instead becomes a 1v1 fighting game. There are 11 playable characters at launch, with at least five more coming through DLC. The game is also now confirmed for EVO 2020 alongside Marvel Vs Capcom 2. XSEED Games and Marvelous USA, inc., are gearing up to let long-time fans go head-to-head on their latest title with the tournament taking place shortly after starting July 31st, 2020, through August 2nd, 2020. Due to this, many players are going to want to get as much time with the game as they possibly can.
What is the pricing information?
XSEED Games has revealed official pricing information. As well as release formats for the game, which includes two versions of the game. The digital edition of this will be called the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Character Pass Set. And this edition is available through the PlayStation Store for $79.99. There will also be a limited edition at launch. The Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for $99.99 on the PlayStation Store. It will feature all the same content as the Premium Edition. As well as the Character Pass Set, including a digital soundtrack, digital artbook. And the exact same art for its exclusive theme that fans of the physical Premium Edition. All editions will be available when Granblue Fantasy: Versus launches on March 3rd, 2020, exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles.
Moreover, this isn’t the only Granblue game coming to the West. Action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is also on the way. However, there is currently no word on when Relink will release, either in Japan or the West. You can check out more about Granblue Fantasy: Versus over at the official website.
