G2 recruits Mixwell to their VALORANT roster

G2 welcome CS:GO pro Mixwell to their VALORANT roster

After announcing that they would enter in the VALORANT scene, G2 Esports have recently revealed their first player. The team said that Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho would become the first ever member in their VALORANT roster. Mixwell has previously been playing in the CS:GO professional scene. He played during the BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen the last year before going inactive in Cloud9.

Mixwell told the community that he believed G2 Esports had a successful competitive history behind them. He said that his fans also encouraged his decision by believing in G2. Mixwell added that their goal will be the top VALORANT team in the international stage. Moreover, he said that he himself will also be aiming for the top. The former CS:GO pro told that he trusts the team to achieve these goals.

Mixwell has been famous for his achievements in the professional CS:GO scene during his time with OpTic Gaming. They had top finished in the ELAGUE Season 2 and Northern Arena 2016 Montreal. After his time with Cloud9, Mixwell entered the VALORANT competitive scene. He has been constantly improving himself ever since the start of VALORANT closed beta. Before joining G2, he gathered five top finished already in the VALORANT tournaments.

CEO of G2 Esports, Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago told the community that Mixwell was one of the most sought players in the VALORANT scene. His success in a short span of time led many teams to try to sign him in their roster.

G2 Esports in the esports scene

With the lead of ocelote, G2 Esports have been vastly successful in the esports scene. Especially in the League of Legends stage, the organisation had a championship title in the MSI 2019, and a second place finish at Worlds 2019. They have also been champions in the past two LEC seasons. In CS:GO professional scene, the organisation had a top three finish in the last BLAST Premier Spring.

Since the VALORANT has left the closed beta in the recent weeks, the competition in the title has been growing nonstop. Many of the organisations such as 100 Thieves started entering the scene with their new rosters. Meanwhile, G2 Esports will likely reveal more names in their roster in the following weeks.
